PostNL and bol.com are looking in to making their packages more sustainable. A webshop and postal office working together for a better future. We reached out to our customers to find out how they think about this and if it is worth it.
Website
I used Webflow to create a webpage with a fake door method. This way we're trying to research the interest in this new innovation idea. I taught myself how to work with Webflow in 2 days. This is one of the three ways we used to research the interest.
Sticker
The second way is designing stickers for the packages of bol.com. I created a lot of different designs and then chose from these to iterate with them until I reached the final sticker you can see here. It's made in the style of bol.com unlike the rest that's created in PostNL style.
Flyer
The third way is with flyers. I made multiple designs again until I was satisfied with the final product. I also created a new image that would suit the flyer and the information that we want to bring to the readers. The other side of the flyer was a picture of PostNL.
Interviews
With the flyers we started field research. We wanted to collect bol.com packaging and tried to get information by starting conversations with the people who openend their doors. We didn't wanted it to feel too much like a interview so we kept the conversations as natural as possible. We gained a lot of interesting insights to continue with this innovation idea. (and it was also a fun way of doing research)
End results
A lot of people are interested so all the results are presented to the right people of PostNL and bol.com so they can continue with this project. The plans are still to realise this idea of creating reusable packaging.
