PostNL is always looking to make things easier for their customers. Currently we did research for the 'slimme brievenbus' to make dropping off of smaller packages easier and faster.
Research
First I researched if the users would be interested in our idea. It was necessary to know if they saw any benefit in this application before we already created it. I've spoken to a select amount of PostNL customers and we've send out an enquête.
Testing
We've created an app and I was supposed to make sure everything worked correct and change the UX of the app. I kept in contact with the test group to get daily feedback that could be used to make the app operate better. I made new designs to improve the app until we were happy with the finished outcome.
Itteration
Besides creating different new designs for the app based on the feedback I also made multiple possibilities on how we can implement this in the already existing PostNL app. I kept dark and light mode in mind for these designs.
Endproduct (not out yet)
When I was happy with the outcome I presented the finished product to the company, combined with my findings and the feedback of our test group. They've decided to continue with this project to actually make it a new innovation for PostNL. Currently it’s not available yet because they're working on what needs to be done before this can be used in all of The Netherlands.
